Sri Nanak Parkash - Post 015

Above is a water colour painting of the Khalsa initiation ceremony in 1699 when Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji baptised the five beloved with the ambrosial nectar of Khande Da Bhatta. The Sikhs were immediately transformed and this is mentioned in the next stanza of the Sri Nanak Parkash by Kavi Santokh Singh Ji who invokes Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jis power in the change of persona of the Khalsa warriors.

Below is the translation of twenty sixth stanza of the first Adhyai of the Sri Nanak Parkash

Kabit – Bhai Santokh Singh Ji is saying that he has folded his hand and is bowing to the feet of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in reverence. Your feet are the granter of bliss, the cloud of peace and the destroyer of sin. O Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji you have transformed people who lived their lives similar to monkeys to live a life similar to that of a lion. O Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji you made those who were dull radiant like the sun. You transformed those as low as an ant to the greatness to the elephant. O Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji you gave to this world an order that grants liberation. You transformed the state of those who were timid like insect to the state of the ferocious Garur. You turned those who were blackened by sin like crows to the pure sinless state of the swan. You transformed those who were poor to being wealthy kings and those who were in bondage to liberated beings. O Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji your beautiful form has the splendour that the moon would have been able to equal if it was not cursed with a blemish. 26.

The words of Bhai Santokh Singh Ji are emotional and attack the very core of the Kaaran Sarrer to say, 'never forget what the Gurus did for you and forever be grateful'

The works of Bhai Santokh Singh Ji are that great that they even feel poetic and in measure once translated. What a marvel this great Sadhu was?

I would like to create this into a book with a lot more commentary and research by judging by my last book I dont think the Sikh community are actually bothereed about reading publications unless they are free and for this reason i have started this blog.

I completely agree. The stanzas translated really are like an arrow through the heart. What blessing to be so intoxicated with love for guruji

    Wah!

Kamalpreet jI, i was fortunately enough to obtain a copy of your book on sri ragmala sahib ji and found it a fascinated read. I can't believe this book has not been bought by every sikh serious about gursikhi.

The translations you provide are indeed a godsend. Please though veerji keep in mind whatever book you publish there will always be sikhs hungry for them, even if only in few numbers.

  4. Thank you singh for your complement. Guru's kirpa the Mahatmas have been guiding me and I have anumber of books pending. I have completed the stteks of Bhai Gurdas Singh Ji's Vaar, Salok Mahalla Nauvan and Adhyatam Parkash so hoefully will release them slowly.

The Raagmala book and all other publications are a testament to the Gurus divine teachings and the Sadhus that have kept the teachings alive.

I will only publish books as long as they are at cost price thatnkfully DTF assisted the first publication and hopefully will do the same with others.
